Windows on kimsufi
Hello,
Atom processor are really bad since they don't have VT-x, so yeah full virtualized OS like windows will be pretty slow.
If you really need a Windows you need a KS-3 minimum to have the VT-x and install windows (32 + 64 bits) with good "speed".

debian 7.8 64bits + virtualbox
and a VM Inside with 2008 (not R2) 32bits.
but it's extremely slow.
virtualbox on which os ?
try several os-es 64bit and no chance , need 32 bit os ?

I've installed 2008 on my KS with N2800.
I've used virtualbox
as atom doesn't have VT instructions, you will be limited to 32 bits VMs
But don't on KS-1 & KS-2 .. None of Atom processors here don't support virtualisation..
You could install proxmox and use KVM virtualization. This would allow you to create a VPS and install windows on it. It is well documented if you Google it :P

Hi,
thanks for your reply, is it possible you can give me some instructions like what os should i install first and then what should i do ?
I've written a proof of concept
here (in french). However it use the "old" manager where it's still possible to cut monitoring during maintenance. I believe it will work with new Kimsufi with some minor adaptations, but I can't provide any support.

I'm gonna jump in on this thread and ask the same question: I just got a new Kimsufi server and can't install windows on it, how can I install it? (my old '08 Kimsufi has Windows on it)

Hello,
Nobody knows... However it's still possible to virtualize Windows OS (server or desktop) on top of a hypervisor., keeping in mind Kimsufi constraint (single IPv4 & single IPv6).
